Joyce Vromen

Joyce has a warm, collaborative, evidence-based approach. She has a special interest in neurodiversity assessments. Joyce is the founder and principal psychologist at Joyce Vromen Psychology, a practice specializing in neurodiversity assessments and training for mental health professionals. Joyce authors the Psychology Today blog Divergent minds: The assessment of neurodiversity Joyce has completed a PhD at the University of Queensland and master and bachelor degrees in psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Joyce has previously worked in private practice at the Kooky clinic and Therapy House. Joyce also has 15+ years experience in mental health research across university, hospital, and community mental health settings. She has worked at the Queensland Brain Institute, Oxford university (UK), and New York University (USA), as well as in applied research settings at Autism Queensland and the John Radcliffe Hospital. Joyce also has extensive teaching experience in the tertiary education sector as a sessional lecturer.
